Bedding

We supply Dorris Lumber flake shavings. Dorris uses only kiln-dried pine in our operations, never green wood. That means your shavings have an average moisture content of 8 to 10%.

  • Only flakes in the bag, not fines
  • Use a three-level vibrating screen to eliminate any dust

IMPORTANT: Please note that no outside bedding deliveries are permitted.*
*For horses with allergies, please contact facility management.

Hay

Our Alfalfa, Orchard, and Timothy hay is sourced by RT Hay, offering premium quality hay for your horses while at MEC.

Additional Fees

A processing and handling fee will be added to your online order – thank you!

Refunds & Cancellations

No refunds will be given on hay orders once these orders have been delivered. Bedding will be refunded minus a $2 restocking fee.

For orders that have not been delivered, refunds will only be issued if written notification is provided and meets the above deadlines. Refunds will be processed within two weeks of the close of the show or event.

About the Discipline

Western, English, & Halter

The three most popular horse show categories that can be found at most open shows and breed shows are: The Western discipline that includes all classes in which the horse is ridden in western tack. Most common are rail classes like Pleasure and Equitation, and pattern classes like Horsemanship, Trail, and Western Riding.

The English discipline includes all classes in which the horse is ridden in English tack. Most common are flat classes like Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation, and over fences in classes such as Hunters, Show Jumping, and Equitation.

In Halter classes, horses are shown in hand and without tack. The goal of the Halter class is to select horses in the order of their resemblance to their breed ideal with the most positive combination of balance, structural correctness, muscling, and movement. Classes are typically divided by the horse’s age and sex.
